    Day 3Bahar DarFly to Bahar Dar and transfer to your hotel. Drive to the majestic Blue Nile Falls before you take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the 13th century monastery of Ura Kidane Mihres and Kibhran Gabriel.

    Day 9KumasiDepart to Kumasi the realm of the Ashanti Kingdom, arriving at noon. We pass through Obouasi, the location of the Ashanti Goldfields-one of the richest mines in the world. In the afternoon, take an excursion to the village of Bonwire, the locale where the famous Royal Kente Cloth is made.

    Day 10KumasiVisits to the craft villages of Pankrono (pottery), Ahwiaa (woodcarving), and Ntonso (adinkra) cloth. Visit the Kumasi Cultural Center and lunch at the Kentish Kitchen with Ghanaian cuisine. In the afternoon, an excursion to the Kumasi Central Market-the largest in West Africa, followed by a visit to Manhiyia Palace for an audience with the Ashanti King or members of his Royal Court.

    Day 11Busua Beach ResortDepart Kumasi for Busua Beach resort in Ghana's Western region for water sports and other activities. Take a canoe ride to visit a Busua Island. Go on a walking tour to visit Fort Metal Cross at Dixcove.

    Day 12Cape CoastDepart for Cape Coast. Tour Elmina Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site built in 1482. This castle was the first European structure in sub-Saharan Africa. Vist the historic village, Elmina.

    Later, visit the Cape Coast Castle, a restored UNESCO World Heritage site. Once the seat of the British Colonial administration, this castle is home to the infamous Door of No Return, one of the most vivid reminders of the colonists' slave trade.

    Day 13AccraAfter breakfast, depart Cape Coast for Accra. En route, visit Kakum National Park, one of West Africa's surviving tropical rain forests. Extending over 360sq km, Kakum is the home to over 40 large mammals and 400 bird species as well as many species of butterflies, flora and fauna. The most popular attraction is the Canopy walkway, which is made up of seven bridges extending 330m, hanging 30m (100 feet) above the forest floor. Choose between a 2 km nature walk through this forest to discover the wide variety of exotic floral species and the medicinal values they offer, or take a walk on the canopy walkway.

    Day 14AccraToday, depart for the Mampong Centre for Scientific Research into plant Medicine. The center conducts research in the use of plant medicine in the cure of various ailments. Have lunch at Aburi Botanical Gardens. The garden overlooks the coastal plain at an elevation of 1,200 to 1,500 feet above sea level. Later, visit the woodcarvers.
